How to get Lignano

Lignano is set on a peninsula, which is surrounded to the north and the east by the lagoon of Marano and the fishing stream, in the west by the river Tagliamento and in the south by the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula stretches out of over 1600 hectares, of which 500 hectares have been built upon, 430 hectares with other structures, 270 hectares of pine trees and 300 hectares of agricultural use. Apart from being a very contemporary and up to date beach resort of efficiency and services, Lignano is also very easily reached by car, train or plane. If you arrive by car, just take the A4 in direction of Venice-Trieste or the A23 towards Tarvisio-Udine, both connected to the network of European motorways. The most recommended exit is that of Latisana in direction of Venice, about 30 km away from Lignano. For those wanting to travel by train, alight at Latisana or Portogruaro from where there are regular bus shuttles run by ATVO, which go directly to the city centre of Lignano.
